What is GRE Exam?
GRE refers to a standardized exam conducted by ETS, which assesses our analytical writing, quantitative ability and verbal reasoning skills for post-graduate aspirants.
GRE does not have an age limit, and aspirants can take the exam in any center located in 47 Indian cities. The sectional GRE scores are generated after the exam immediately, but official GRE scores are generated within 10-15 days (about 2 weeks) after taking the exam and are valid for 5 years.

ETS GRE Exam Shortened Under 2 Hours
GRE exam which was previously under 4 hours has been shortened to just 2 hours, as notified by ETS. The shortened version of GRE Exam has started from 22nd September 2023, with 26 lesser Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning Questions and just one Analytical Writing Essay. This new change will make GRE Exam shorter than GMAT exam, GMAT focus Edition and LSAT exam.

GRE Exam Eligibility 2025
For GRE Exam Eligibility, there are no specific prescribed norms by ETS. Anyone can register for GRE regardless of age or other qualifications. However, the students applying for postgraduate courses are required to take the GRE test and should produce their original passport as proof of identity at exam test centers.

No age limit has been set for candidates who want to appear for GRE test.
Educational Qualification
No official statement was released by ETS regarding the qualification required for appearing for the GRE. The GRE Exam is only for admission in master’s or PhD courses, so without the possession of graduation degree, there is no point in appearing in the exam.

GRE Cancellation Fee/ GRE Rescheduling Fee
For canceling or rescheduling the GRE General Test, it should be done no later than four days before the exam date or the GRE exam fee would be unfortunately forfeited. Candidates would have to pay $50 to reschedule the GRE test. Candidates are also charged $50 if the subject needs to be changed for the GRE Subject Test.
